Hidden Faces Program

Our programs were specifically designed for HIV positive women - to assist them in their anonymous quest of  financial challenges, disease/medical information and social services. Our clients are typically minority, in poor health, underserved, mothers, daughters and grandmothers.These are the increasingly NEW faces of HIV and AIDS.

In year 2000, African American and Hispanic women represented 80% of reported HIV/AIDS cases.

A Sister's Gift has a case management program to promote female enrichment and emotional growth, while delivering  unique services listed below.

  • Short-term Emergency Assistance (housing, utilities, child care, prescription)
  • Bus Passes
  • HIV Telephone Support Chat: Girlfriends Coffee Chat (Gain strength from talking to other HIV females.)
  • Case Management  (Non-medical)
  • Client Advocacy and Problem Resolution (Bring your business issues to us)
  • Cabbage and Beans Day (Warm cabbage, pinto beans with meat, and sweet cornbread delivered one day each month.)
  • HIV Pamphlets, Community Education and Seminars
  • Diet and Nutrition Information
  • Yoga Classes
  • Life Improvement Seminars - "Y Not Me?"
  • My Girlfriend My Buddy  (Be mentored and receive encouragement from a long time HIV female.)
  • Career and Clothing Assistance 

     

    Eligibility Requirements

Females 18 and up who have tested HIV positive.

All ASG services are free

ASG offers complete confidentiality and anonymity.

Females free of current drug abuse and criminal activities.
